Biometric data policy
This policy is the version of 28 September 2026.
While you film on Real Cut’s filming page, your phone’s own browser can check whether a face is in the picture and where, so the page can say “keep your face in the frame”. It finds a box around a face, never who the face belongs to.
The check runs only if you agree to it in writing first, on the page, after this policy is shown to you. If you do not agree, you still film, the check never runs, and the checks that need it are marked as not measured, never as failed.
The face check runs on your phone. It sends no face images, shape measurements or templates to Real Cut and keeps no such measurements or templates. Real Cut receives one number for each video: the share of it in which a face was in the picture. Separately, the video you choose to upload can include your face and is kept under your filming consent.
The box exists only in your phone’s memory while the camera is open, and is gone when it closes. The number for each video is kept with that video and deleted when the video is deleted.
Real Cut keeps no biometric identifier. Anything this policy covers is destroyed when its purpose ends, or within three years of your last visit to the filming page, whichever comes first.
Real Cut never sells, leases or trades biometric data or otherwise profits from it, and discloses it to no one except where the law requires.
You can turn the face check off before any video, on the filming page. To have your videos and their records deleted, write to zan@realcut.ai.
This policy covers everyone who films on Real Cut’s filming page: a brand’s buyers and hired creators alike.
